It is my great pleasure to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to the Shanghai Animation Film Studio. With a history spanning nearly eight decades, the studio traces its origins to the Animation Group (katong zu<\/em>) established at the Northeast Film Studio in Changchun in October 1946. The Animation Group was relocated to Shanghai in March 1950 and became part of the Shanghai Film Studio before gaining independence on April 1, 1957, when it was formally established as the Shanghai Animation Film Studio. As a state-owned enterprise, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio remained China\u2019s sole professional animation studio throughout the socialist years from the 1950s to the 1970s.      <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The studio\u2019s prolific output accounts for nearly 90% of all Chinese animated films produced during its heyday, with many now regarded as timeless classics. To say that the Shanghai Animation Film Studio was<\/em> Chinese animation for decades would be no exaggeration.<\/p>\n

Yet beyond quantity, the studio distinguished itself through artistic excellence. Rooted in China\u2019s fine arts traditions, it produced culturally significant films that educated, inspired, and entertained generations of Chinese children. By adapting classical literature and reinventing traditional arts for animation, the studio pioneered what became known as the Chinese School of Animation. Masterpieces like the cel-animated Uproar in Heaven<\/em> (1961\u20131964) and Nezha<\/em> (1979) brought legendary tales to life, while ink-painting animations such as Little Tadpoles Look for Mama<\/em> (1960) and The Herd Boy\u2019s Flute<\/em> (1963) achieved a poetic synthesis of movement and traditional ink-painting aesthetics. These works represent the pinnacle of Chinese animation as an art form. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This commitment to artistry endures in the digital age today. In an era dominated by commercial CGI blockbusters like Monkey King: Hero Is Back<\/em> (2015) and Nezha 2<\/em> (2025), the Shanghai Animation Film Studio continues to uphold its artistic standard by harmonizing traditional arts with digital technologies. Recent works like A Story About Fire<\/em> (2025, see the poster below) demonstrate this ethos, blending ethnic minority folklore with the expressive xieyi<\/em> ink-painting style. Similarly, Goral Flying<\/em> (2026)\u2014which has been in the making for more than a decade\u2014marks China\u2019s first CGI ink-painting animated feature film, using CGI technologies to revive the analog ink-painting animation aesthetic in the 1960s. In an industry increasingly driven by commercial imperatives, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio remains a steadfast guardian of artistic integrity.<\/p>\n

The studio\u2019s global influence is equally remarkable, particularly in Europe. Its 1956 debut at the Venice International Children\u2019s Film Festival inaugurated a decades-long presence at international film festivals, even during China\u2019s Cold War isolation. Favoring European venues in Italy, France, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Czech, Denmark, Portugal, Yugoslavia, and others, the studio found kinship with the art-film tradition in Europe. The Animafest Zagreb notably shaped Chinese animation in the 1980s, evident in A Da\u2019s works and echoed in A Story About Fire<\/em>\u2019s minimalist formal abstraction\u2014a deliberate contrast to Disney\u2019s realism.<\/p>\n

Today, as we gather at the Red Lotus Asian Film Festival Vienna 2025<\/a>, we celebrate not just the studio\u2019s past triumphs, but its enduring vision: one that honors tradition while embracing the future. This award recognizes its historical achievements, applauds its present efforts and innovations, and anticipates the boundaries it has yet to cross.<\/p>\n

To the Shanghai Animation Film Studio\u2014thank you. Your art has inspired generations, and your legacy will continue to illuminate the world of animation in China and beyond.  <\/p>\n

\u6211\u975e\u5e38\u8363\u5e78\u5730\u5c06\u7ec8\u8eab\u6210\u5c31\u5956\u6388\u4e88\u4e0a\u6d77\u7f8e\u672f\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\u3002\u8fd9\u5bb6\u62e5\u6709\u8fd1\u516b\u5341\u5e74\u5386\u53f2\u7684\u5236\u7247\u5382\uff0c\u5176\u524d\u8eab\u53ef\u8ffd\u6eaf\u81f31946\u5e7410\u6708\u6210\u7acb\u4e8e\u957f\u6625\u4e1c\u5317\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\u7684\u5361\u901a\u7ec4\u30021950\u5e743\u6708\uff0c\u5361\u901a\u7ec4\u5357\u8fc1\u4e0a\u6d77\uff0c\u5e76\u5165\u4e0a\u6d77\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\uff1b1957\u5e744\u67081\u65e5\uff0c\u5b83\u6b63\u5f0f\u72ec\u7acb\u5efa\u5236\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u56fd\u8425\u4e0a\u6d77\u7f8e\u672f\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\u3002\u5728\u6574\u4e2a\u793e\u4f1a\u4e3b\u4e49\u65f6\u671f\u7684\u4e94\u516d\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u81f3\u4e03\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\uff0c\u8be5\u5382\u59cb\u7ec8\u662f\u4e2d\u56fd\u552f\u4e00\u7684\u4e13\u4e1a\u52a8\u753b\u5236\u4f5c\u673a\u6784\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5728\u5176\u9f0e\u76db\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u7684\u4ea7\u91cf\u5360\u636e\u4e86\u4e2d\u56fd\u52a8\u753b\u7535\u5f71\u603b\u4ea7\u91cf\u7684\u8fd190%\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u8bb8\u591a\u4f5c\u54c1\u5982\u4eca\u5df2\u88ab\u5949\u4e3a\u4e0d\u673d\u7ecf\u5178\u3002\u53ef\u4ee5\u8bf4\uff0c\u5728\u6570\u5341\u5e74\u95f4\uff0c\u4e0a\u6d77\u7f8e\u672f\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\u5373\u4ee3\u8868\u7740\u4e2d\u56fd\u52a8\u753b\u2014\u2014\u6b64\u8a00\u6beb\u4e0d\u4e3a\u8fc7\u3002<\/p>\n

\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u7684\u5353\u8d8a\u4e0d\u4ec5\u5728\u4e8e\u4ea7\u91cf\uff0c\u66f4\u5728\u4e8e\u5176\u827a\u672f\u9ad8\u5ea6\u3002\u5b83\u6839\u690d\u4e8e\u4e2d\u56fd\u7f8e\u672f\u4f20\u7edf\uff0c\u521b\u4f5c\u51fa\u517c\u5177\u6587\u5316\u6df1\u5ea6\u4e0e\u6559\u80b2\u610f\u4e49\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\uff0c\u6ecb\u517b\u4e86\u51e0\u4ee3\u4e2d\u56fd\u513f\u7ae5\u7684\u5fc3\u7075\u3002\u901a\u8fc7\u5c06\u53e4\u5178\u6587\u5b66\u4e0e\u4f20\u7edf\u827a\u672f\u5f62\u5f0f\u8f6c\u5316\u4e3a\u52a8\u753b\u8bed\u8a00\uff0c\u8be5\u5382\u5f00\u521b\u4e86\u4e3e\u4e16\u95fb\u540d\u7684”\u4e2d\u56fd\u52a8\u753b\u5b66\u6d3e”\uff1a\u8d5b\u7490\u7490\u52a8\u753b\u300a\u5927\u95f9\u5929\u5bab\u300b\uff081961-1964\uff09\u4e0e\u300a\u54ea\u5412\u95f9\u6d77\u300b\uff081979\uff09\u8ba9\u795e\u8bdd\u82f1\u96c4\u8dc3\u7136\u94f6\u5e55\uff1b\u6c34\u58a8\u52a8\u753b\u300a\u5c0f\u874c\u86aa\u627e\u5988\u5988\u300b\uff081960\uff09\u548c\u300a\u7267\u7b1b\u300b\uff081963\uff09\u5219\u5b9e\u73b0\u4e86\u52a8\u6001\u5f71\u50cf\u4e0e\u4f20\u7edf\u7f8e\u5b66\u7684\u8bd7\u610f\u4ea4\u878d\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4f5c\u54c1\u81f3\u4eca\u4ecd\u4ee3\u8868\u7740\u4e2d\u56fd\u52a8\u753b\u827a\u672f\u7684\u5dc5\u5cf0\u6210\u5c31\u3002 <\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u79cd\u827a\u672f\u8ffd\u6c42\u5728\u6570\u5b57\u65f6\u4ee3\u4f9d\u7136\u5ef6\u7eed\u3002\u5f53\u300a\u897f\u6e38\u8bb0\u4e4b\u5927\u5723\u5f52\u6765\u300b\uff082015\uff09\u4e0e\u300a\u54ea\u5412\u4e4b\u9b54\u7ae5\u95f9\u6d77\u300b\uff082025\uff09\u7b49\u5546\u4e1aCGI\u5927\u7247\u4e3b\u5bfc\u5e02\u573a\u65f6\uff0c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u59cb\u7ec8\u81f4\u529b\u4e8e\u4f20\u7edf\u827a\u672f\u4e0e\u6570\u5b57\u521b\u65b0\u7684\u878d\u5408\u3002\u65b0\u4f5c\u300a\u71c3\u6bd4\u5a03\u300b\uff082025\uff09\u5c06\u5c11\u6570\u6c11\u65cf\u4f20\u8bf4\u4e0e\u5199\u610f\u6c34\u58a8\u98ce\u683c\u7ed3\u5408\uff0c\u800c\u5386\u65f6\u5341\u4f59\u5e74\u6253\u9020\u7684\u300a\u6591\u7f9a\u98de\u6e21\u300b\uff082026\uff09\u66f4\u6210\u4e3a\u4e2d\u56fd\u9996\u90e8CGI\u6c34\u58a8\u52a8\u753b\u957f\u7247\uff0c\u4ee5\u6570\u5b57\u6280\u672f\u590d\u73b01960\u5e74\u4ee3\u6c34\u58a8\u52a8\u753b\u7684\u80f6\u7247\u8d28\u611f\u3002\u5728\u65e5\u76ca\u5546\u4e1a\u5316\u7684\u884c\u4e1a\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\uff0c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u59cb\u7ec8\u662f\u827a\u672f\u521d\u5fc3\u7684\u575a\u5b88\u8005\u3002     <\/p>\n

\u5176\u56fd\u9645\u5f71\u54cd\u529b\u540c\u6837\u4ee4\u4eba\u77a9\u76ee\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u5728\u6b27\u6d32\u3002\u81ea1956\u5e74\u9996\u6b21\u4eae\u76f8\u5a01\u5c3c\u65af\u56fd\u9645\u513f\u7ae5\u7535\u5f71\u8282\u8d77\uff0c\u5373\u4fbf\u5728\u51b7\u6218\u9694\u7edd\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u4f5c\u54c1\u4ecd\u6301\u7eed\u767b\u9646\u610f\u5927\u5229\u3001\u6cd5\u56fd\u3001\u5fb7\u56fd\u3001\u82f1\u56fd\u3001\u745e\u58eb\u3001\u6377\u514b\u3001\u4e39\u9ea6\u3001\u8461\u8404\u7259\u548c\u5357\u65af\u62c9\u592b\u7b49\u56fd\u7684\u7535\u5f71\u8282\uff0c\u4e0e\u6b27\u6d32\u827a\u672f\u7535\u5f71\u4f20\u7edf\u5f62\u6210\u6df1\u5c42\u5171\u9e23\u3002\u8428\u683c\u52d2\u5e03\u52a8\u753b\u7535\u5f71\u8282\u66f4\u6df1\u523b\u5f71\u54cd\u4e861980\u5e74\u4ee3\u4e2d\u56fd\u52a8\u753b\u521b\u4f5c\u2014\u2014\u4ece\u963f\u8fbe\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\u5230\u300a\u71c3\u6bd4\u5a03\u300b\u6781\u7b80\u7684\u5f62\u5f0f\u62bd\u8c61\uff0c\u65e0\u4e0d\u4f53\u73b0\u7740\u4e0e\u8fea\u58eb\u5c3c\u5199\u5b9e\u4e3b\u4e49\u7684\u81ea\u89c9\u5206\u91ce\u3002   <\/p>\n

\u4eca\u5929\uff0c\u57282025\u7ef4\u4e5f\u7eb3\u7ea2\u83b2\u4e9a\u6d32\u7535\u5f71\u8282\u7684\u73b0\u573a\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4e0d\u4ec5\u81f4\u656c\u7f8e\u5f71\u5382\u7684\u5386\u53f2\u8363\u5149\uff0c\u66f4\u793c\u8d5e\u5176\u8d2f\u901a\u53e4\u4eca\u7684\u89c6\u91ce\u3002\u8fd9\u5ea7\u5956\u676f\u81f4\u656c\u5176\u8f89\u714c\u8fc7\u5f80\uff0c\u5609\u8bb8\u5176\u5f53\u4e0b\u521b\u65b0\uff0c\u66f4\u671f\u5f85\u5b83\u672a\u6765\u5c06\u8de8\u8d8a\u7684\u7586\u754c\u3002<\/p>\n

\u81f4\u4e0a\u6d77\u7f8e\u672f\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u7247\u5382\u2014\u2014\u611f\u8c22\u60a8\u4eec\u3002\u60a8\u4eec\u7684\u827a\u672f\u542f\u8fea\u4e86\u6570\u4ee3\u4eba\uff0c\u8fd9\u4efd\u4f20\u5947\u5c06\u7ee7\u7eed\u7167\u4eae\u4e2d\u56fd\u4e43\u81f3\u4e16\u754c\u7684\u52a8\u753b\u661f\u7a7a\u3002<\/p>\n\r\n\t\t
